| 1. A process for the manufacture of 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluorobutane, which comprises reacting a chlorinated precursor with hydrogen
fluoride to produce 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluorobutane and separating the 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluorobutane by using an azeotropic or pseudo-azeotropic
composition which comprises 1.5 mol % to 27.5 mol % of 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluorobutane and 72.5 mol % to 98.5 mol % of hydrogen
fluoride.
