1. A method for optimizing performance of a slice-based network comprising:
detecting, by a virtual infrastructure manager (“VIM”), a performance threshold violation associated with a first virtual network function (“VNF”) of a network slice, wherein the performance threshold violation indicates that performance of the first VNF is below a threshold;
determining, by the VIM, a source region of the first VNF by mapping a portion of a workload associated with the performance threshold violation to an internet protocol (“IP”) prefix range associated with the source region; and
based on detecting the performance threshold violation of the first VNF and determining the source region of the first VNF, generating, by the VIM, instructions to instantiate a second VNF at the source region.
