| 1. A solid oxide fuel cell comprising:
a cathode comprising a compound of the general form Ba0.5Sr0.5Co0.8Fe0.2O3-δ having a perovskite crystal structure, wherein δ is less than or equal to 1;
an anode; and
an electrolyte.
