| 1. An electronic system comprising:
a housing;
a plurality of similarly-shaped slot access panels in an exterior wall of the housing;
a system board mounted within the housing;
a plurality of first slot connectors mounted on the system board within the housing, the plurality of first slot connectors
each aligned with the slot access panels, and the plurality of first slot connectors directly connecting a first plug-in card
to the system board;
a mezzanine board installed within the housing and mechanically and electrically connected via at least one of the plurality
of first slot connectors to the system board;
a second slot connector mounted on the mezzanine board, the second slot connector configured to connect a second plug-in card
to the mezzanine board, the second slot connector aligned with the slot access panels.
