| 1. A method comprising:
(a) receiving user account identifying information from a user through at least one input device of an automated banking machine
including a cash dispenser and at least one of a check imaging device and a currency bill validating device;
(b) receiving through the at least one input device, at least one input indicating that the user wishes to make a deposit
including at least one of a check and a currency bill into the automated banking machine;
(c) operating the automated banking machine to communicate with at least one remote computer in determining if a user account
associated with the user account identifying information, can have a first deposit transaction conducted thereon;
(d) responsive to a positive determination in (c), operating the automated banking machine while operative to complete the
first deposit transaction and sans user-caused cancellation of the first deposit transaction, to communicate with the at least
one remote computer to cause cancellation of the first deposit transaction;
(e) responsive to a positive determination in (c), accepting the deposit corresponding to the at least one input received
in step (b) in the automated banking machine;
(f) evaluating the deposit accepted in (e) through operation of the automated banking machine to determine a value associated
therewith;
(g) subsequent to (f), operating the automated banking machine to communicate at least one message with the at least one remote
computer, to conduct a second deposit transaction on the account, wherein the second deposit transaction causes a deposit
in an amount of corresponding to the value determined in (f) to be indicated as having been made to the user account.
