1. A process for converting a feedstock comprising organic compounds to conversion product which comprises:
a) forming molecular sieve particles according to the following method:
i) providing a solution or suspension of an aluminum-containing inorganic oxide precursor, wherein at least 6 atom % of the aluminum in the precursor is in a form exhibiting an 27Al NMR peak at 62-63 ppm;
ii) combining the solution or suspension of aluminum-containing inorganic oxide precursor with a molecular sieve to form a catalyst formulation slurry; and
iii) forming molecular sieve catalyst particles from the catalyst formulation slurry, such that the catalyst particles contain from 40% to about 60% by weight of molecular sieve and have an attrition resistance index of less than 0.5 wt%/hr; and
b) contacting said feedstock with a catalyst comprising an active form of said molecular sieve catalyst particles.
