| 1. An ink cartridge for an inkjet printhead, the ink cartridge comprising:
an ink storage volume;
an outlet opening with an outlet valve for connection to an inlet on the printhead, the outlet valve having a stem fixedly
mounted in the outlet opening, the stem having a radially extending flange portion; and,
an annular skirt of resilient material extending from the side of the outlet opening to the flange portion; wherein,
the annular skirt is self-biased, without a spring, into sealing engagement with the flange portion and configured for engagement
with the inlet on the on printhead to move from the flange portion to open the outlet valve upon installation of the cartridge
such that ink flows over the stem exterior from the ink storage volume to the printhead.
