| 1. An information reproducing method for reproducing information from a recording medium,
the medium having a first area in which a video file or an audio file is stored,
the video file or the audio file including a plurality of extents,
the video file or the audio file including an object and an unrecorded area in which new video data and an object are allowed
to be recorded,
the unrecorded area being managed as at least one of the extents,
the one of the extents corresponding to a block,
the object having object units,
each of the object units containing video packs, audio packs and one begin pack,
each of the video packs and the audio packs having predetermined size, and
and each said begin pack including recording time information of each of the object units respectively; and
a second area in which a management file is stored, the management file including video management information,
the video management information having program chain information,
the program chain information containing cell information,
the cell information representing a presentation period of the object; and
the video file, the management file and a backup file being disposed under a rewritable video title set directory as a common
subdirectory; and
a third area in which file management information is stored,
the file management information including a file entry (FE) and a File Identifier Descriptor (FID), the file entry specifying
a location of the video file or the audio file,
the file entry including a short allocation descriptor having length information of an extent and position information of
the extent,
the File Identifier Descriptor (FID) describing a recording location of the file entry (FE),
the File Identifier Descriptor (FID) indicating at least the types of file and file names, and
the File Identifier Descriptor (FID) including a file characteristic representing the type of file, where the file characteristic
has one of parent directory, and file delete flag,
the reproducing method comprising:
reading the video management information, and
accessing the video file or the audio file and reproducing video data or audio data included in the video file or the audio
file, based on the read video management information.
