| 1. solid state reaction method for the production of tetrabasic lead sulfate comprising the steps of:
mixing a stoichiometric mixture of 5PbO and H2SO4;
heating the stoichiometric mixture of 5PbO and H2SO4 at a temperature between 500 and 700° C. for between 3 and 8 hours to produce tetrabasic lead sulfate; and deagglomerating
and sieving the tetrabasic lead sulfate.
