| 1. An article of footwear, comprising:
an upper for securing the foot of a wearer; and
a sole including:
a midsole having a support portion having a first surface and a second surface, the first surface being coupled to the upper
and the second surface having a plurality of projections extending therefrom in a direction away from the first surface, each
projection having a side and a bottom; and
a plate having a body portion contacting at least a portion of the second surface of the support portion and having a plurality
of cantilever elements contacting at least the side and the bottom of corresponding ones of the plurality of projections.
