| 1. A seismic streamer, comprising:
a jacket covering an exterior of the streamer;
at least one strength member extending along the length of the jacket, the strength member disposed inside the jacket;
at least one seismic sensor disposed in an interior of the jacket;
an acoustically transparent material filling void space in the interior of the jacket; and
a plurality of spacers disposed at spaced apart locations along the strength member, distances between adjacent spacers being
varied along the streamer and selected to create a spatial filter to attenuate noise transmitted longitudinally along the
streamer, and wherein a maximum distance between adjacent spacers being approximately eighty percent greater than a minimum
distance between adjacent spacers.
