| 1. A field emission display (FED), comprising:
a substrate;
a cathode electrode and a focus electrode arranged on the same level on the substrate;
an insulation layer arranged on the cathode electrode and the focus electrode such that the cathode electrode and the focus
electrode are partially exposed through the insulation layer;
a field emitter arranged at a portion of the cathode electrode exposed by the insulation layer; and
a gate electrode arranged on the insulation layer,
wherein the field emitter is arranged on a side of the cathode electrode that faces a portion of the focus electrode exposed
by the insulation layer.
