| 1. A communication apparatus, which performs a data communication through a power line transmitting alternating current having
predetermined frequency, and which uses a first communication method, the communication apparatus comprising:
a data communication circuit;
a detecting circuit that detects whether a signal transmitted from another communication device exists within a notice period
synchronized with the predetermined frequency of the alternating current, the communication device performing the data communication
through the power line using a second communication method different from the first communication method, wherein the communication
apparatus and the communication device, employing the first and second communication methods, respectively, are unable to
demodulate signals transmitted from one another; and
a controlling circuit that controls the data communication circuit in accordance with whether or not the detecting circuit
detects the signal.
