| 1. A peripheral device for coupling with a host printing device using an external data bus that extends between the peripheral
device and the host printing device, the peripheral device comprising:
a processing device;
memory;
a drive motor; and
a power circuit including a power source configured to be recharged by power collected from the host printing device via the
external data bus and to supply power to the drive motor and a diode configured to block a flow of power from the peripheral
device to the host printing device along the external data bus;
wherein, because of the operation of the power circuit, no separate power cord or converter is needed to power the peripheral
device.
