| 1. A method of coating a fiber material web, comprising the of:
using a contactless application unit that is a first curtain application unit to apply one of a liquid and a pasty application
medium to a side of a moving fiber material web in combination with a material web smoothing device in an online process within
a machine for producing and treating the fiber material web; and
using a second curtain application unit to apply one of a liquid and a pasty application medium to an opposite side of the
moving fiber material web without an intermediate drying step between the first curtain application unit and the second curtain
application unit.
