| 1. An ablative apparatus comprising:
a. An ablation probe containing:
i. a proximal surface;
ii. a distal surface opposite the proximal surface;
iii. at least one radial surface extending between the proximal surface and the distal surface; and
iv. at least one abrasive member on a surface of the ablation probe other than the proximal surface;
b. A transducer capable of ultrasonically driving the ablation probe in contact with the proximal surface of the ablation
probe containing:
i. at least one piezo ceramic disc; and
ii. electrodes capable of exposing the at least one piezo ceramic disc to an alternating voltage;
c. A guide wire secured at one end to the transducer;
d. A handle secured at the end of the guide wire opposite the transducer;
e. Electrical leads running along the guide wire and connected to electrodes within the transducer;
f. A catheter encasing the ablation probe, transducer, and at least a portion of the guide wire containing:
i. a proximal end;
ii. a distal end opposite the proximal end;
iii. a pocket at the distal end of the catheter encasing the ablation probe;
iv. a cryogenic intake lumen originating at the proximal end of the catheter and running substantially the length of the catheter;
v. a cryogenic exhaust lumen running substantially the length of the catheter, substantially parallel to the cryogenic intake
lumen, and terminating at the proximal end of the catheter;
vi. a junction connecting the intake lumen and exhaust lumen at distal ends of the intake and exhaust lumens; and
vii. a partition distal to the junction isolating the intake lumen and exhaust lumen from the pocket encasing the ablation
probe.
