| 1. A data storage tape comprising:
one or more data tracks; and
a servo band that stores a plurality of servo patterns within a servo frame to facilitate head positioning relative to the
data tracks,
wherein each of the servo patterns within the servo frame individually facilitate head positioning relative to the data tracks,
wherein spacings between the servo patterns within the servo frame vary to encode information in the servo frame, wherein
a number of bits in the information is greater than a number of servo patterns within the frame.
