| 1. A display apparatus that receives an image signal from an image output apparatus, and displays an image at a predetermined
resolution, comprising:
an image signal characteristics detecting device that detects characteristics of the received image signal,
a display device that selects one resolution conversion method from a plurality of resolution conversion methods according
to the detected characteristics of the image signal, converts resolution of the received image signal according to the selected
resolution conversion method, and displays the converted image on a display screen;
an indicating device that generates an indication signal containing position coordinates on the display screen and at least
one type of indication command according to an indication carried out on the displayed image;
an indication signal conversion device that converts the indication signal according to the position coordinates contained
in the indication signal; and
an indication signal output device that outputs the converted indication signal to the image output apparatus,
wherein said indication signal conversion device converts the position coordinates of the image signal according to the selected
resolution conversion method.
