| 1. An image processing apparatus for generating combined data from image data and pattern image data, comprising:
replacing means for replacing a part of attribute information attached to the image data with the pattern image data; and
combining means for generating the combined data on the basis of the image data in which the part of the attribute information
has been replaced by the replacing means,
wherein the image processing apparatus further comprises compression means for compressing, prior to combining by the combining
means, the image data including the attached attribute information whose part has been replaced by the replacing means, the
compression means performing reversible compression of the attribute information and irreversible compression of the image
data.
