1. A cabinet for retaining a vacuum pump, the cabinet comprising:
an enclosure defined by at least a first wall, a second wall, and a top surface, said enclosure configured to receive a vacuum pump;
an access opening in the cabinet, the access opening defined by the first wall, second wall, and the top surface of the cabinet;
a first access panel configured to partially cover the access opening in the cabinet;
a second access panel configured to partially cover the access opening in the cabinet; and
an access port on a top surface of the cabinet at an intersection of the first and second access panels;
wherein said first and said second access panels are removable from the access opening to permit access to a vacuum pump within the enclosure and the first access panel forms part of the top surface of the cabinet and part of the first wall of the cabinet.
