| 1. A method for fabricating a color filter substrate for a liquid crystal display, comprising the steps of:
forming a black matrix on an insulating substrate;
forming a color filter on the black matrix;
forming a common electrode on the color filter;
depositing an insulating layer onto the common electrode; and
patterning the insulating layer in a single selective light exposure step to thereby form a first protrusion with a first
height, and a second protrusion with a second height, the second height being greater than the first height,
wherein a first bottom level of the first protrusion is different from a second bottom level of the second protrusion from
the insulating substrate and the first protrusion has a width of about 4-14μm and the second protrusion has a width of about
15-45μm.
