| 1. A hard coating excellent in wear resistance and oxidation resistance which consists of a composition represented by the
formula:
(Ala,Mb,Cr1-a-b)(C1-eNe)
where M represents W and/or Mo; and a, b and e, which represent atomic ratios of Al, M and N, respectively, satisfy the following
relations:
0.25≤a≤0.65,
0.05≤b≤0.35, and
0.5≤e≤1.
