| 1. A method comprising:
receiving a speech signal having a narrow bandwidth;
identifying the received speech signal as voiced speech or unvoiced speech;
expanding the narrow bandwidth of the speech signal based on whether the received speech signal is voiced speech or unvoiced
speech;
processing the speech signal having an expanded bandwidth for spatial reproduction; and
jointly optimizing the performance of the expanding of the narrow bandwidth of the speech signal and the processing of the
speech signal having the expanded bandwidth for spatial reproduction in relation to at least one property.
