23. A method for performing a biopsy with a biopsy device that includes a cannula having a lumen, a closed distal end, and an orifice located on a circumferential surface of said cannula, and wherein a sheath is disposed on said cannula to selectively cover and uncover said orifice, comprising:
suctioning tissue through said orifice and into said lumen of said cannula while said cannula is positioned in a body of a patient;
displacing said sheath to cover said orifice with said sheath and in the process of displacing said sheath separating a tissue sample from said tissue;
after displacing said sheath, removing said cannula containing said tissue sample from said body of said patient;
after said cannula containing said tissue sample is removed from said body of said patient, generating a positive pressure, relative to said atmospheric pressure, in said lumen of said cannula while said orifice of said cannula is covered with said sheath; and
after generating said positive pressure, sliding said sheath to at least partially uncover said orifice to eject said tissue sample as a result of said positive pressure.
