| 1. A recording apparatus comprising:
a carriage that forms an image by a reciprocative movement, wherein the carriage includes mounting positions for mounting
a plurality of liquid containers, wherein each of the plurality of liquid containers include a light emitting portion;
a light receiving portion capable of receiving light emitted by the light emitting portions of the plurality of liquid containers;
a determining means for determining whether a liquid container is mounted at a correct position based on a light receiving
amount received when the carriage is moved to a position where the mounting position corresponding to the liquid container
faces the light receiving portion, and a light receiving amount when the carriage is moved to a position next to the mounting
position in a condition where the light emitting portion of one of the plurality of liquid containers is emitting light; and
a specifying means for specifying a position when the liquid container determined not to be mounted at the correct position
based on a light emitting amount emitted from the light emitting portions of the plurality of liquid containers, wherein the
light emitting portions sequentially emit light when the carriage is halted at a position where the mounting position corresponding
to the liquid container faces the light receiving portion.
