| 1. Apparatus comprising:
an automated banking machine,
wherein the automated banking machine is operative to receive at least one currency note therein,
at least one data store in association with the machine,
a currency note validation arrangement in association with the machine,
wherein the validation arrangement is operative to assess the at least one currency note for validity,
wherein the validation arrangement, responsive to assessing at least one currency note of suspect validity, is operative to
cause storage in the at least one data store of data usable to uniquely identify the at least one currency note of suspect
validity and a person associated with the at least one suspect currency note.
