1. A method of allocating time slots to wireless mobile stations comprising:
assigning control time slots of a frame of a first carrier, associated with wireless communication in a first direction, to a plurality of wireless mobile stations;
assigning each control time slot of one or more control time slots of a frame of a second carrier, associated with wireless communication in a second direction, to the plurality of wireless mobile stations to a position corresponding to a position in time that is between two control time slots of the first carrier and maximally spaced in time relative to the positions of the two control time slots; and
assigning one or more data time slots used to communicate data, to a particular wireless mobile station of said plurality of wireless mobile stations, to positions before or after the position of a control time slot of one of the carriers beginning from positions that are as near as possible in time to the control time slot of the carrier to positions that are farther from the position in time of the control time slot of the carrier.
