| 1. A lightning detector configured to use at least two separate channels or frequency bands for lightning detection, wherein
the emission from a lightning stroke is a wideband burst, and
wherein the lightning detector is a mobile radio frequency device comprising radio interfaces for the at least two communication
channels or frequency bands, wherein at least one of which is normally a telecom channel/frequency range and wherein these
channels/ranges are used in lightning detection,
wherein at least two channels or a complete frequency band reserved for telecommunication is configured to provide a triggering
mode and
wherein at least one of the channels is a frequency modulation frequency channel, said lighting detector being configured
to use two separate radio interfaces, a main lightning detection radio interface and another radio interface that is configured
to use less power, but is less accurate than the main lightning detection radio interface.
