| 1. A video information recording apparatus, comprising:
a first obtaining unit operable to obtain video information to be recorded;
a second obtaining unit operable to obtain thumbnail picture information to be recorded in correspondence with said video
information;
a thumbnail encoding unit operable to encode said thumbnail picture information;
a video information encoding unit operable to encode said video information;
an encrypting unit operable to encrypt the encoded thumbnail picture information; and
a recording unit operable to record the encoded video information and said encrypted thumbnail picture information onto a
recording medium;
wherein said thumbnail picture information includes said encrypted thumbnail picture information and non-encrypted thumbnail
picture information, and said recording unit records said encrypted thumbnail picture information in a first object of said
object of said thumbnail picture information and records said non-encrypted thumbnail picture information in a second object
of said object of said thumbnail picture information.
