| 1. An ion conductive copolymer having the formula:
—((Ar1—X1—Ar2—X2—Ar3—X3)m—Ar1—X1—Ar2—)a/((Ar4—X4—Ar5—X5—Ar6—X6)n—Ar4—X4—Ar5—)b/(—Ar7—X7—Ar8—)cR1—Ar9—Y—Ar10—R2—
where —((Ar1—X1—Ar2—X2—Ar3—X3)m—Ar1—X1—Ar2—)a and ((Ar4—X4—Ar5—X5—Ar6—X6)n—Ar4—X4—Ar5—) are different hydrophobic oligomers,
where Ar1, Ar2, Ar4, Ar5, Ar7, Ar8, Ar9 and Ar10 are independently phenyl, substituted phenyl napthyl, terphenyl, aryl nitrile, substituted aryl nitrile, and Ar7 and/or Ar8 further comprise an ion conducting group, X1 and X4 are independently —C(O)— or —S(O)2, X2, X3, X5 and X6 are independently —O— or —S—; X7 is a bond, —C(O)— or S(O)2—,
Ar3 and Ar6 are the same or different from each other and are
![]() and wherein the ion conductive groups comprise SO3−, —COO−, H2PO3− or sulfonimide;
R1 and R2 are independently —O— or —S—,
wherein a, b and c are independently between 0.01 and 0.98 and a+b+c=1,
wherein m is between 1 and 12, n is between 1 and 12,
and wherein Y is a bond, —C(O)—, —S(O2)—, and Ar10 may be present or absent when Y is a bond.
