1. A device for delivering a prosthesis material to an interior region of a vertebral disc, the device comprising:
a retractable body having a proximal end and a distal end;
a holder region disposed adjacent the distal end of the body, the holder region being adapted to hold the prosthesis material prior to delivery into the interior region of the vertebral disc;
a plunger disposed within the retractable body, the plunger and retractable body adapted to move relative to each other to release the prosthesis material;
a pressure transducer disposed on or within the plunger to sense a pressure parameter within the disc, wherein said pressure parameter is correlated to a pressure increase within the vertebral disc; and
a stop disposed on the plunger,
wherein the stop allows positioning of the retractable body relative to the interior region of the vertebral body such that the prosthesis material is released within the interior region of the vertebral body at a desired location, and
wherein the retractable body comprises a slot that allows the retractable body to retract such that the stop moves relative to the plunger within the slot.
