| 1. A marine reversing gear assembly provided with a locking device comprising:
an input shaft driven by an internal combustion engine;
an output shaft connected to a propeller shaft;
a hydraulic pump driven by the input shaft;
a hydraulic forward and reverse clutch;
a directional control valve for switching the forward or reverse clutch by the supply of working oil from the hydraulic pump;
and
a locking device provided with a locking mechanism for locking the output shaft, and a hydraulic actuator for unlocking the
output shaft by operating on the locking mechanism due to the supply of working oil from the hydraulic pump, wherein the locking
mechanism includes a locking part and a locked part, which are constructed to enter into an engaged locking position when
pressure of the working oil falls to a relatively low pressure, so that rotation of the output shaft is blocked immediately
when the locking part and the locked part enter into the engaged locking position.
