| 1. An intelligent footwear system comprising:
an article of footwear comprising a midsole, the midsole defining a cavity therein;
a system for monitoring at least one performance characteristic of the article of footwear, the monitoring system at least
partially disposed in the cavity and configured for removal from the cavity, wherein the monitoring system comprises a sensor
for converting the at least one performance characteristic of the article of footwear into an electrical signal and a transmitter
for transmitting the electrical signal; and
a processor located remotely to the article of footwear and in communication with the monitoring system, the processor configured
to receive the electrical signal and to determine at least one of velocity, acceleration, jerk, distance, and stride frequency
of a wearer.
