| 1. An apparatus for transferring a patient from a first surface to a second surface, the apparatus comprising:
a winch having two reels;
two straps attached to the reels;
two wedge cushions for pushing the patient in the direction of the winch from the first surface to the second surface, each
of the wedge cushions having a cover, an insert and an attachment mechanism for removably attaching the wedge cushions to
the two straps, the wedge cushions being thinner at an end having the attachment mechanism and being thicker at a distal end.
