| 1. In a cell processor having a main memory, one or more power processor units (PPU) and one or more synergistic processing
elements (SPE), each SPE having a synergistic processor unit (SPU) and an associated local store, wherein the one or more
PPU are configured to access system management resources of the cell processor and the one or more SPE are not configured
to perform system management functions, a method for copying data from a first location in the main memory to a second location
in the main memory, the method comprising the steps of:
transferring a portion of the data from the first location to the local store of one or more SPU;
transferring the portion of the data from the local store to the second location; and
copying a portion of the data from the first location to the second location using one or more of the PPU.
