1. In a computer network, a method for granting a request from a first resource to access a second resource, comprising:
on behalf of the second resource, receiving from the first resource, digitally signed instructions directing the first resource to access the second resource;
independent of the first resource, utilizing data used to sign the instructions received from the first resource to verify that the instructions originated from an authorized source other than the first resource; and
granting the first resource access to the second resource only upon verifying that the instructions originated from an authorized source other than the first resource, the authorized source being a user of a client device interacting with the first resource via the computer network.
