| 1. A network interface card (“NIC”) comprising:
an atomic operation logic processing device to: receive from a requester a packet that contains a request to perform an atomic
operation; determine that the atomic operation is being requested; and respond to the requester to indicate the atomic operation
has been performed if the packet that contains the request to perform an atomic operation comprises a value indicating a response
should be sent.
