| 11. A system to control a gain in an amplifier assembly having at least one gain stage, comprising:
a controller to generate at least one gain change control signal to indicate a direction of gain change;
a switch matrix coupled to the controller to select the at least one gain stage according to the at least one gain change
control signal; and
a ramp generator coupled to the switch matrix to produce at least one ramp signal, wherein the at least one gain change control
signal activates or deactivates the at least one selected gain stage in response to the at least one ramp signal.
