| 1. A method of examining the reproductive potential of a oocyte, comprising the step of:
determining the expression of human cytoplasmic polyadenylation element binding protein (hCPEB) of SEQ ID NO: 3 or SEQ ID
NO: 4 in said human oocyte, wherein presence of the human cytoplasmic polyadenylation element binding protein expression indicates
that said human oocyte has reproductive potential, wherein the lack of human cytoplasmic polyadenylation element binding protein
expression indicates that said human oocyte lacks reproductive potential.
