| 1. A method for determining the anti-atherogenic potential of a potential enhancer of the complement/lipid pathway, said method
comprising:
carrying out an in vitro assay in which complement activation activity and/or complement consumption activity of said potential
enhancer in the complement/lipid pathway is detected so as to determine the potential enhancer's anti-atherogenic potential;
wherein the presence of complement activation activity and/or complement consumption activity of the potential enhancer indicates
that the potential enhancer has anti-atherogenic potential.
