| 1. A back light module for illuminating a liquid crystal display panel of a liquid crystal display, comprising:
a polarized light source device comprising:
a light source for generating light;
a reflector surrounding the light source for reflecting the light and having an opening for emitting the light;
a transparent substrate disposed at the opening;
an antireflection layer disposed on the transparent substrate; and
a plurality of metal grid wires disposed on the antireflection layer for transmitting the light with a predetermined polarization
therethrough; and
a light guide having at least one incoming surface facing the polarized light source, a plurality of scattering elements,
and an outgoing surface, wherein the light emitted from the polarized light source is transmitted into the light guide from
the incoming surface, scattered by the scattering elements, and then transmitted out of the light guide from the outgoing
surface.
