| 8. The image display system comprising:
a light source for projecting a light;
a light source controller for controlling the light projected from said light source;
and a mirror device having a plurality of mirror elements;
the mirror device modulating the light projected from the light source for controlling an amount of light reflected from the
mirror device, wherein the light source control unit controls the light source by a AC-driven signal during at least one time
slice in one frame period and the mirror device further modulating the light projected from the light source by an intermediate
state in the time slice for reducing a controllable minimum increment amount of light reflected from said mirror device for
controlling gray scales of a display image of said image display system.
