1. For treating effluent water, a process comprising the steps of:
feeding a stream of effluent water to a reactor filled with porous ceramic media;
absorbing organic and inorganic impurities from the effluent water into the porous ceramic media; and
dispensing a remainder of the effluent water stream from the reactor in an outlet stream.
