| 1. A method for treating a polyamide reverse osmosis membrane for boron rejection enhancement, comprising:
contacting the reverse osmosis membrane with a chemical coating applied by recirculating the chemical through the membrane
at 50 ppm concentration and about 100 psig for about one hour to obtain a reverse osmosis membrane having a boron rejection
of greater than 97.6% from seawater in a single pass,
wherein the chemical coating comprises poly(hexmethylenebiguanide)hydrochloride.
