| 1. An article of footwear, comprising:
an upper which can be adjustably tightened around a wearer's foot;
an outsole attached to the upper;
a first strap, including a first portion and a second portion;
the first portion of the first strap being fixed to a first side of the upper and extendable across the article of footwear
to a second side of the upper;
a lacing system;
a second strap, including a first end and a second end;
the first end of the second strap being fixed to the second side of the upper and the second end of the second strap being
adjustably fastened to the first side of the upper; and
the second portion of the first strap being adjustably fastened to an underside of the second strap, thereby allowing independent
adjustability of each of the first and second straps to apply tension in different regions of the upper.
