1. An image processing apparatus that processes image information including a first image component which was responsive to an image-forming light, and a second image component which was responsive to a non-image forming light, wherein the image processing apparatus comprises:
an image acquiring section that acquires the image information;
an edge processing section that conducts edge processing with respect to the image information, wherein the edge processing distinguishes the second image component with respect to the first image component; and
a region specifying section that specifies a region of the second image component using edge image information from the edge processing, or using hue image information converted from the edge image information.
