1. A gaming system comprising;
at least one input device;
at least one display device;
at least one processer; and
at least one memory device storing a plurality of instructions, which when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to operate with the at least one input device and the at least one display device to:
(i) display an independent sequence including a plurality of element sets, each of said element sets including identical elements, said independent sequence displayed without displaying the element sets or the elements of each element set;
(ii) cause an award distributor including a plurality of award symbols to activate and indicate one of the award symbols;
(iii) enable a player to pick one of the element sets, wherein the element sets and the elements of each element set are not revealed prior to said element set being picked;
(iv) reveal the elements in the selected element set and display the elements in the selected element set in the independent sequence;
(v) determine a modifier based on the number of elements in the selected element set;
(vi) determine an activation award based on an award associated with the indicated award symbol and the modifier; and
(vii) display the activation award.
