1. A gaming system comprising:
at least one input device;
at least one display device;
at least one processor; and
at least one memory device storing a plurality of instructions, which when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to operate with the at least one input device and the at least one display device to:
(i) display a sequence including a plurality of groups, a plurality of said groups including a plurality of related elements;
(ii) cause an award distributor including a plurality of award symbols to activate and indicate one of the award symbols;
(iii) display a plurality of masked selections, wherein each of the groups is associated with at least one of the masked selections;
(iv) enable a player to pick one of the masked selections;
(v) reveal the related elements in the group associated with the picked masked selection;
(vi) determine a modifier based on the number of related elements in the group associated with the picked masked selection;
(vii) determine an activation award based on an award associated with the indicated award symbol and the modifier; and
(viii) display the activation award.
