1. In a computer system, a method for an event notification to a client within a notification list of a plurality of clients to be notified about an event, said method comprising the steps of:
a) storing information about said client, said information stored to persist through an operating system malfunction of said computer system;
b) notifying said client about said event;
c) in response to an operating system malfunction, accessing said persistently stored information to identify said client; and
d) in response to said operating system malfunction, provided that a notification was in progress prior to said operating system malfunction, designating said identified client as an errant client.
