| 1. A method of treating optical fiber, wherein a deuterium-containing gas can be repeatedly used for treating optical fiber
comprising:
a first step of creating a reduced-pressure atmosphere in a space which holds an optical fiber, a second step of introducing
to the space a deuterium-containing gas from a deuterium storage tank so as to expose the optical fiber to the gas, and
a third step of retrieving the deuterium-containing gas within the space to the deuterium storage tank.
